Meet Ms. Pereyda
Teacher, Amateur Insect Expert, Nature Lover, Life Long Learner.
Hello! I'm a first-year teacher living in the wonderfully biodiverse city of Tucson, Arizona. Did you know the Sonoran Desert is the most biologically diverse desert in the United States? Inspired by this incredible environment, I strive to help young learners build meaningful connections with the natural world. In 2022, I student-taught at the University of Arizona’s Flandreau Science Center, where I had the opportunity to spark curiosity in hundreds of students about the fascinating creatures that call our desert home. From kindergarteners to high schoolers, I opened young minds to the mysterious world of insects and arachnids—all while using live animals and supervised handling to create unforgettable learning experiences.
From 2024 to 2025, I worked at Pima Animal Care Center, where I educated the public on responsible animal care and helped many families welcome new furry friends into their homes. Whether it's caring for living things big or small, or inspiring others to do the same, my passion for life sciences runs deep. I'm excited to begin this next chapter with you—remember: always stay curious!
